HYM

The HYM Investment Group (“HYM”), a leading real estate development company based in Boston, is pleased to announce the promotion of John Hurley to the position of Partner while continuing his duties as Director of Development. As Partner, Hurley will hold a pivotal role at the company, helping to lead its strategic vision and overseeing key aspects of its real estate development projects. He joins Thomas O’Brien, Paul Crisalli and Doug Manz who have served as Partners of the firm from its inception in 2009.

Since joining HYM in 2012, Hurley’s strategic vision, leadership, and commitment to excellence have been instrumental in the successful execution of some of the region’s most transformative real estate projects. Hurley has played a key role in the Bulfinch Crossing development which includes One Congress, a one-million square foot trophy office tower that delivered fully-leased in September 2023 and The Sudbury, a 48-story, best-in-class residential tower that opened in December 2020. Hurley also played an integral role in NorthPoint (Cambridge Crossing), a 45-acre development site situated at the nexus of Cambridge, Somerville and Boston.

HYM is currently at the forefront of some of the largest real estate development projects in the Boston area and is leading the development of more than 20 million square feet of real estate. Among these projects is Suffolk Downs, a 161-acre new urban district located within the cities of East Boston and Revere that will deliver 16.2 million square feet of development, including 10,000 units of housing, over its anticipated 20-30 year build-out.

HYM is also partnering with My City at Peace on Parcel 3, a 7.7-acre vacant lot located in Roxbury that will be transformed into a vibrant, mixed-use development featuring 700,000 square feet of life science space, over 45,000 square feet of local retail destinations and over 300 deeply affordable homeownership units and rental units.

Most recently, HYM has been engaged to complete a large-scale project on Dorchester Avenue in South Boston, with potential for a mixed-use space including housing, life science and retail.

As Partner, Hurley’s expertise, dedication, and leadership will play a key role in advancing these projects.

“We are thrilled to announce John Hurley’s promotion to Partner at The HYM Investment Group,” said Thomas N. O’Brien, Managing Partner and Chief Executive Officer at HYM. “John is an invaluable asset to our team, and we are confident that his leadership will further elevate our capabilities and contribute to the successful delivery of our projects as we look to an ambitious growth trajectory in 2024 and beyond.”

“I am deeply honored and excited to be named a Partner at HYM,” said Hurley. “In this new role, I will remain committed to continuing to advance HYM’s mission that is rooted in hard work, relationship building and enriching the communities we serve.”
