Looking to get outside and enjoy great live music? The Stage at Suffolk Downs, a 8,500 seat, seasonal, outdoor concert venue located in the infield of the Track at Suffolk Downs, is officially open! Developed in partnership between HYM and The Bowery Presents, The Stage marks the official return of live music to Suffolk Downs which has hosted many legendary artists throughout its storied history- including The Beatles, Jackson 5, Radiohead and Bjork.
Throughout The Stage at Suffolk Downs’ opening weekend, June 16 – June 18, concertgoers enjoyed performances by world-class artists including Steve Lacy, and a sold-out show from boygenuis, who headlined the Re:Set Festival at the venue. The Re:Set Festival is just the beginning for The Stage at Suffolk Downs. Breakaway, a two-day electronic dance music festival, will be held at the venue this September and The Stage at Suffolk Downs is already booking shows for 2024. HYM and The Bowery Presents look forward to working with community partners and other local organizations to host events, festivals, and performances at The Stage.
The Stage at Suffolk Downs is an integral component of HYM’s commitment to creatively activating the site throughout the multi-phased build-out of Suffolk Downs. In 2021, HYM saw an opportunity to utilize this historic open space area and opened The Track to the public for the first time in the history of the site for people to run, walk, and play from dawn to dusk every day. HYM has also hosted a number of community-centered events at The Track over the past several years including the Marathon Daffodil Dash, Touch-a-Truck, Union Job Information Sessions and more.
